Our story
A month into the first lockdown, our founder barney found himself at a loose end. missing work, he decided to make some pastries for his neighbours from his mum mimi’s kitchen, after much experimenting barney created our most loved item, our croissant pastry cinnamon bun. barney printed some flyers and put them through his neighbours’ letterboxes. almost instantly, he was overwhelmed with orders. soon, he had to ask his younger brother gabriel to help with the deliveries. before long, barney had a small army of friends turning up each morning with bikes to deliver his pastries as well. it wasn’t long before barney opened his first shop, just a stone’s throw from home and just off portobello road. today, we have 18 shops across london. barney’s mum can often be found at our counters, and the recipes haven’t changed since those days in mimi’s kitchen.
